A Syracuse University female student escaped a possible attempted abduction early Sunday morning, according to a Department of Public Safety notice sent out to students.
An unidentified male in a dark green Jeep approached the student as she walked alone on the 700 block of Maryland Avenue at about 3:30 a.m. When the student approached the Jeep to give him directions, the man asked her if she wanted to get in the car and then grabbed her wrist. The student was able to break free, and the man left traveling down Euclid Avenue toward campus, according to the notice.
No one was injured, according to the notice.
The man is identified in the release as black, between 20-30 years old with short hair. He wore a red hooded sweatshirt and a diamond stud in his right ear, according to the notice.
