No injuries presented after gunshot hits Campus West Apartments

A gunshot struck the Campus West Apartments building on Tuesday night and resulted in no injuries.

The shot hit the off-campus apartment building during a shots fired incident on Interstate-81 at around 8:45 p.m., according to a Department of Public Safety notice.

A man, 23, was shot twice in the chest at the site of the incident, according to a Syracuse Police Department release. He was in a vehicle traveling northbound near the Adams Street off-ramp when another vehicle approached and fired several shots, according to the release. The victim was taken to Upstate University Hospital, where he is listed in serious condition but is expected to survive, according to the release.
