Student Association President Aysha Seedat is looking to create a joint council between SA and the other student governing bodies at Syracuse University and the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry.
At SA’s meeting Monday night in Maxwell Auditorium, Seedat said she is currently in the process of setting up a meeting with the presidents of SU’s Graduate Student Organization and Student Bar Association, as well as SUNY-ESF’s Graduate Student Association and Undergraduate Student Association.
Seedat said the goal of the council would be to improve communication between each organization and graduate and undergraduate students at both universities.
She provided the assembly with an example, saying that when she sent out an email to SU students on regarding safety protocol in response to Oct. 14’s campus lockdown, students at SUNY-ESF never received it. That’s the type of thing she hopes the council will help change.
