Syracuse University’s Office of Multicultural Affairs and University Union are hosting comedian and actress Sherry Cola next Tuesday. She will perform in Schine Student Center at 8:30 p.m., with doors opening at 7:30 p.m. SU student Celine Wang is hosting the event and moderating a conversation with Cola.
Sherry Cola recently acted in the indie movie “Shortcomings” alongside Justin H. Min and Ally Maki. Before that, she acted in the film “Joy Ride,” voiced a character in the film “The Tiger’s Apprentice” and acted in the television show “Good Trouble.”
Described as a rising star by People Magazine and Variety, Cola is garnering attention for her comedic timing and acting talent. When “Shortcomings” premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, magazines gave rave reviews.
Cola was born in Shanghai and moved to California when she was four. While attending California State University, Fullerton, she became involved with the university’s radio show, kick-starting her career in entertainment.
Cola’s upcoming projects include a “Curb Your Enthusiasm”-style comedy and Netflix productions, including upcoming Joey King film “A Family Affair” and Kristen Bell’s new series, written by Erin Foster.
