Syracuse men finish 3rd, women place 20th in Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational

Syracuse resumed its season in Wisconsin for the Nuttycombe Invitational on Friday. The men finished in third while the women placed 20th.
In the men’s 8k, Syracuse placed third out of the 36 schools that competed. SU scored 251 points, only finishing behind Northern Arizona (76 points) and BYU (162 points). The Orange finished with a team time of 2:00:13.6, an average of 24:02.8. Senior Perry Mackinnon was the first SU runner to finish, placing 19th overall with a time of 23:46.1. Fellow senior Paul O’Donnell finished right behind him with a time of 23:48.9. Sophomore Sam Lawler finished 34th with a time of 23:59.8. Junior Alex Comerford finished in 74th place with a time of 24:15.7. No one else for Syracuse finished in the top 100.
In the women’s 6k, Syracuse finished 20th place out of the 33 schools. The Orange racked up 480 points, placing only two runners inside the top 100 with no one finishing inside the top 60. Syracuse finished with a team time of 1:45:21.3, good for an average time of 21:04.3. Junior Savannah Roark was first to cross the finish line for SU with a time of 20:50.9, good for 63rd overall. Senior Sophia Jacobs-Townsley was the only other Orange runner to finish inside the top 100, finishing 87th overall with a time of 20:56.8.
