Syracuse tight end Gabe Horan has been medically disqualified due to concussions, SU Athletics confirmed Tuesday night.
Horan, a true freshman, played his high school football at C.W. Baker in Baldwinsville. He missed the final nine games of the 2018 season.
SU has two tight ends/fullbacks left on scholarship: Chris Elmore and Aaron Hackett. Elmore serves as a staple in SU’s power-run game and Hackett’s seen limited usage as a blocker and pass catcher.
Syracuse has a high school tight end signee waiting to enroll in Luke Benson. Head coach Dino Babers also floated possibly going after a transfer tight end during his National Signing Day press conference last week.
