Syracuse to face Charlotte in Battle 4 Atlantis 1st round

Syracuse will face Charlotte in the first round of the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament Nov. 25 in the Bahamas, per a release. The winner will face either Connecticut or Michigan on Nov. 26 in the semifinals.
The last time the Orange faced the 49ers was Nov. 22, 2006, when then-No. 17 SU won 79-67. Demetris Nichols led the Orange with 21 points. Last season, Charlotte went 14-18 overall with a 7-11 record in Conference USA.
SU, Charlotte, UConn and the Wolverines are part of a loaded field that also includes Gonzaga, Texas, Washington and Texas A&M.
The tournament’s 12 games will take place in Imperial Arena, unique for its lighting that illuminates the entire court while the stands are dark.
